Marines deliver medicine in Helmand Province
Marines in Khan Neshin, Afghanistan told Spirit of America of the very sparse medical resources available in this area of Helmand Province. As part of our Marines rebuild former Taliban stronghold project, SoA sent children's medicine to help improve medical care for Afghan children.
There is currently only one Comprehensive Health Clinic in this District…and it is under construction. An interim clinic is being run out of an old cow barn to service local health needs. Medical personnel are not well trained, and there is no female care whatsoever. Medical supplies are also in very short supply and there is little to no refrigeration to keep medication. Pictured here is the distribution of medical supplies from Spirit of America.
From all the Marines here with Task Force Highlander and the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, we send our thanks to Spirit of America and all of your donors for making this possible.
