What is an RSS feed?

RSS stands for "Remote Site Syndication" and allows you to get the latest headlines from Spirit of America and many other blog and news websites through so-called RSS readers. The RSS reader will connect to Spirit of America on an hourly basis and notify you when something new has been posted to our website.

Why should I use RSS?

It's an easy way to stay informed of what happens with Spirit of America without having to visit our website on a daily basis. A big benefit of RSS is that you can subscribe to many websites and thus stay informed without having to go to each site individually.

How do I use RSS?

First you need to acquire a 'RSS' or "news reader". There are several web-based services available like bloglines and MyYahoo. In fact, to use RSS through Yahoo is as simple as clicking on the MyYahoo button you will find on our blog. Other news readers are slightly more tricky. The best way is to right click on the 'RSS 2.0' button and copy the target location to your clipboard. Then, in your RSS reader, you can subscribe to a new site. The address should now be in your clipboard so simply paste it into your reader at that point.

For reference our RSS feed address is: http://www.spiritofamerica.net/cgi-bin/soa/site.pl?rm=rss;category_id=4
