LTC Max Velte and the California National Guard 40th Infantry Division Agribusiness Development team were featured this week on ABC-7 (KGO-TV, San Francisco). This unit which is being supported through Spirit of America's Support Farm Families in Kunar Province, are doing working hard to provide for the basic needs of both locals and livestock in this very rural area.

To date, Spirit of America has $9,334 to purchase 500 pairs of shoes and 1,000 lead ropes with another contribution of shoes to be on the way in the next. LTC Velte wrote a message of thanks: " The shoes keep coming in and I am giving them out to kids in need as fast as I receive them.  Spirit of America is sending another 500 pair as well.  It is a good warm feeling to address this need where I can, it is hard to describe with words.

The video from ABC-7 and the photos below help tell the story of how important these supplies are to the farm families receiving your support.
