Following is a message I received from Brigadier General Joe Dunford of the 1st Marine Division. It is an encouraging note I thought you'd like to see. I first met Gen Dunford in 2002 when he was serving under General Jim Mattis. He has been in Iraq while two rotations of Marines have come and gone. He is a great American. -----Original Message-----

After many months of 'no worse enemy' ... we are very pleased to seize opportunities to demonstrate 'no better friend.' I'm more optimistic today than at any time in my 22 months in Iraq. I believe we have the momentum right now ... we will build on that. Thanks again for all of your support and encouragement over the past year. SF Joe
