A children's library in Iraq. We hope to provide books for 10 more like this one.
Iraq's Ministry of Education has identified 200 children's books as the foundation for the ideal children's library. The recommended book list includes favorites like Goodnight Moon, Very Hungry Catepillar, Curious George, Charlotte’s Web, Diary of Anne Frank, The Cat in the Hat and The Hobbit. Most books are in English as English is taught at a very young age in Iraq and must be taught in 5th grade and beyond.
We are seeking donations to provide enough books for 10 children’s libraries in community centers, schools and hospitals.
All books will include a sticker on the inside front cover like the one below that includes the message “A gift of friendship from the American people” in Arabic and English.
