Help Army SSG Race bring much-needed supplies to Kunar Province Valley

SSG Dale Race stationed near Kunar Province Valley Afghanistan contacted SoA to help with the need in this rural area in Northeast area of Afghanistan. SSG Race wrote, "I would like your help with providing basic subsistence items to a few local Afghan farmers and their children in our area of operation in the Kunar province. Most farmers and families lack some of the things we take for granted every day such as fresh water, food, education and clothing." With your contributions to this project, SoA will supply items such as shovels, rakes, baby blankets, clothing, school supplies and more.

SSG Race's Original Request

My name is SSG Race, Dale with the Corp of Engineers here in Afghanistan. I received your letter and want to thank you for giving me a chance, to make a big difference, in a small Afghan community. I would like your help with providing basic subsistence items to a few local Afghan farmers and their children in our area of operation in the Kunar province. Most farmers and families lack some of the things we take for granted every day such as fresh water, food, education and clothing. We are in the process of building new schools in some of these rule areas.

Farming is main industry in Kunar With a high rate of illiteracy and desperation, the people in our areas need basic farming items such as shovels, hoes, picks, and rakes. Both adults and children need clothing, especially shoes, socks, and gloves. The new schools here will lack basic supplies, like pencils, paper, chalk, and blank notebooks. The schools will lack any and all sports equipment. We could use basic recreational items such as bats, balls, gloves, soccer balls. The youngest children love any type of stuffed animals, so that would be appropriate also. These people here in this country know that we are here to help and not here to take away any rights, religion or personal freedoms, for they have seen the good we have done. By building schools, police stations, energy stations and roads that have helped thousands benefit from this. I would like to go one step farther and start one on one and work with our current civil affairs to help these people in our area with your help. ATTACHED is a picture of Kunar Providence Valley. How do I get started? Sincerely, SSG RACE, DALE Asadabad, Afghanistan In subsequent emails, SSG Race highlights the need for the following items: Blankets, Baby Blankets, Socks, Plant Watering Cans, Shovels, Rakes, Pruning Sheers, Fertilizer Sprayer (hand held and push).
